The short version: We collect only what we need to run the service. We never sell your data. You can delete your account and data anytime. Your clients don't need accounts to view updates.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address - For login, notifications, and account recovery
  • Display name - Shown on public project pages
  • Password - Securely hashed, never stored in plain text

Project and Update Content

When you use the Service, we store:

  • Project names and descriptions
  • Update content (text and images you upload)
  • Timestamps for when projects and updates are created

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your credit card details. We only receive:

  • Subscription status (active, cancelled, expired)
  • Customer ID from Lemon Squeezy
  • Billing period dates

Usage Data

We collect basic analytics to improve the Service:

  • Login timestamps
  • Feature usage (e.g., projects created, updates posted)
  • Error logs for debugging

Information We Don't Collect

We deliberately avoid collecting:

  • Your clients' personal information (they don't need accounts)
  • Detailed browsing behavior or tracking pixels
  • Information from third-party social media profiles

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide the Service - Store and display your projects and updates
  • Communicate with you - Send login codes, notifications, and service updates
  • Process payments - Manage subscriptions via Lemon Squeezy
  • Improve the Service - Analyze usage patterns and fix bugs
  • Prevent abuse - Monitor for spam, fraud, or Terms violations

We never:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Use your content for advertising
  • Share your information except as described in this policy

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

Service Providers

We share data with trusted third parties who help us operate the Service:

  • Cloudflare Workers - Hosting and infrastructure
  • Cloudflare D1 - Database storage
  • Lemon Squeezy - Payment processing
  • Resend - Email delivery (for OTP codes and notifications)

These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for providing their services.

Public Project Pages

When you create a project:

  • The project page is publicly accessible via its unique URL
  • Anyone with the link can view project updates
  • Your display name is shown on the page
  • No other personal information (like your email) is displayed

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or to:

  • Comply with legal obligations or court orders
  • Protect our rights, property, or safety
  • Prevent fraud or abuse

4. Data Security

We take security seriously:

  • Encryption - All data is transmitted over HTTPS
  • Password hashing - Passwords are hashed with industry-standard algorithms
  • Access controls - Only authorized personnel can access our systems
  • Regular updates - We keep our infrastructure up to date with security patches

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

  • Active accounts - We retain your data as long as your account is active
  • Deleted projects/updates - Permanently removed from our database immediately
  • Deleted accounts - All user data is permanently deleted within 30 days
  • Legal retention - Some data may be retained longer if required by law (e.g., tax records)
  • Backups - Deleted data may persist in backups for up to 90 days before being purged

6. Your Rights and Choices

Access and Portability

  • You can view all your projects and updates from your dashboard
  • You can request a copy of your data by contacting support

Correction

  • You can update your display name and notification preferences from settings
  • You can edit or delete individual projects and updates

Deletion

  • You can delete individual updates or projects at any time
  • You can permanently delete your entire account from settings
  • Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone

Email Preferences

  • You can opt out of marketing emails (we don't send many anyway)
  • You cannot opt out of essential service emails (login codes, billing updates)

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal cookies:

  • Authentication token - Stored in localStorage to keep you logged in
  • Essential cookies - Required for the Service to function

We do NOT use:

  • Third-party advertising cookies
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Cross-site tracking

8. Children's Privacy

Animiso is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Users

Our servers are hosted on Cloudflare's global network. Your data may be processed in different countries. By using Animiso, you consent to this transfer.

If you're in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR:

  • Right to access your personal data
  • Right to rectification
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing

10. Changes to This Policy
